Product Authentication for Pharmaceutical Brands
A patient cannot tell a real pack from a convincing fake just by looking at it. Give them one scan and a definitive answer. No app, no login, no friction.
Your Patients Are Already Buying Fakes. Most Do Not Know It.
Authentication is not a compliance checkbox. It is the last line of defence between your patient and a product that will not work or could actively harm them. These numbers show why that line matters.
Five Ways Your Current Authentication Setup Leaves Patients Unprotected
A good counterfeit pack looks identical to yours. Same font, same colour, same barcode format. The patient has no way to verify without a system behind the label. Visual inspection is not a defence.
Some brands put a QR code on pack but it links to a static marketing page. Patients scan it, land on your website, and assume the product is genuine. A QR code without authentication logic gives false confidence and zero protection.
Pharmacies are supposed to verify against EMVS in the EU and DSCSA in the US. But verification steps get skipped under time pressure. Without a consumer-facing layer, the patient is the last check and they have no tools.
A dispensed but unused pack comes back to the pharmacy. It gets restocked. Certify marks a pack as dispensed after first scan, so any rescan at dispense triggers a warning. Without that, returned counterfeits slip through undetected.
Your brand sells in India, UAE, Nigeria, and the UK. Each market has different verification infrastructure. You need one system that works for consumers in all of them without country-specific apps or integrations.
Four Authentication Mandates That Govern Where Your Products Are Sold
Authentication is no longer optional in your key markets. Each of these regulations specifies exactly what needs to happen before a patient receives your product. Acviss maps to all of them from a single platform.
DSCSA requires authorised trading partners to verify the product identifier on every saleable unit before dispensing. Each prescription drug must carry a unique serialised identifier that can be verified at point of dispense. Failure to verify is a reportable exception under the Act.
Every prescription medicine dispensed in the EU must be authenticated against the European Medicines Verification System at the point of dispense. The pharmacist or dispenser verifies and decommissions the pack. Any pack that cannot be verified against EMVS must not be dispensed.
Revised Schedule M requires labelling that enables traceability and authentication at the unit level. CDSCO serialisation mandates for drug exports specify that each pack carries a scannable code with batch details. Consumer-accessible verification is the expected implementation for high-risk drugs and exports.
WHO Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines require that finished products carry sufficient identifying information to confirm authenticity at any point in the supply chain. This includes unique identifiers, batch records, and documentation that a product was manufactured to specification. Exporting to any of the 53 PIC/S member countries requires this.
Authenticate. Trace. Monitor.
Three products that address authentication at every layer. Start with the one that closes your most urgent gap. Connect them when you want full coverage.
A unique 2D code on every pack. Any patient with a smartphone gets a genuine or not genuine answer in two seconds. No app, no account, no friction. Your QA team sees scan geography and batch performance from one dashboard.
- Unique 2D code on every pack at line speed
- Tamper-evident holographic label with embedded digital twin
- Consumer scan confirms genuine or flags suspect
- First-scan-dispensed logic prevents rescan abuse
- Batch dashboard with scan geography heatmap
- DSCSA and EMVS data export built in
Every consumer scan becomes a supply chain event logged on blockchain. If that scan happens in the wrong country, your compliance team gets an alert before the product reaches more patients. Authentication and traceability work as one.
- Every consumer scan logged as a supply chain event
- Geography of scan confirms authorised market
- Out-of-market scan triggers diversion alert
- Cold chain status visible at point of dispense
- Full batch traceability accessible from the consumer-facing scan result
- CDSCO audit trail from manufacturing to patient
Patients who cannot find your product in a pharmacy will search online. Truviss monitors those channels for fake listings and rogue pharmacies before patients buy from them. Closes the authentication gap that physical labels cannot reach.
- Detects fake listings where consumers think they are buying from you
- Rogue pharmacy site alerts before they scale
- Counterfeit listing takedown with evidence package
- Monitors social media channels for unlicensed sellers
- Weekly threat report for your brand protection team
- Flags serial number anomalies from diverted stock online
